Optical frames are sturdy and designed to have prescription lens placed in them! If you buy a non-optical frame and try to insert lens in fashion frames, sunglasses, or reading glasses, you risk the frame breaking or crystals falling off due to the pressure and heat that may be associated with lens insertion.
